Payment and Fulfillment

So the price is agreed to, all questions are asked, and the sale is finalized. We have to get paid and fulfil the order (shipping if necessary), so this page is dedicated to that process.

Best Practices For THis Process

• First off, if you’re on eBay or a platform that manages payment and fulfillment, you are required to follow their procedures and are protected from fraud and abuse if you do.
• For Facebook Marketplace and any platform that doesn’t manage payment/fulfilment, DO NOT TAKE PAYMENT BEFORE THE BUYER VERIFIES THE ITEM IN PERSON! This is a common fraud scheme that you can easily avoid.
• Unless bound by platform, EITHER party has the right to cancel the deal before payment or change it so long as both sides agree. The transaction is not final until payment is rendered and the item is provided for pickup. So if the buyer, or the seller, tries to change the deal at the last minute the other party can say no.
• Online or in-person, we can accept all major credit cards. In person, we accept cash and may also accept certain digital wallets, such as Cash App, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. You should NEVER accept checks unless you either (1) cash it immediately with them at the bank or (2) really trust that person.
• For fulfillment in person, if possible, meet in a well-lit, neutral place
• If it’s not practical to meet at a neutral site, and they come to our residence, meet and conduct the transaction outside, in front of the house, in plain view of neighbors, and with more than one person on the Seller’s side present for security and verifiability. Use common sense and your best judgment.
• For shipping, in order of preference, use UPS, FedEx, or USPS Priority Mail. All of these can be tracked and the status verified. Ensure that the highest priority is given to tracking the order and updating the buyer with this information.
